The Flash (aka Barry Allen) is one of the most popular and well-known characters in DC Comics. He is actually the second Flash (Jay Garrick was the first), but Barry Allen is by far the most popular and is used for all of the DC Comics movies and animated films.



Barry was raised by both his mother and his father, however, when he was a child, his mother was murdered. Everyone thought Barry's father, Henry, had killed his wife. Barry's father was sent to jail to serve a life sentence, but Barry was convinced that it wasn't his father that did it. Darryl Frye, a cop who was secretly having an affair with Barry's mother, took Barry in and raised him.
